Durham Capoeira Cooperative

The Durham Capoeira Cooperative is an Durham-based organization founded by students at Duke University in 2000. Today it includes 3 capoeira instructors, all of them graduate students at Duke, as well as a diverse community of practitioners and participants from Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham, and especially Duke University. In recent years the DCC has worked to develop programs with Durham public schools and community centers. Additionally, the club has established networks with other Universities in the area, such as NCCU and, UNC. The instructors lead in capoeira training, performances and provide cultural demonstrations all over the triangle.
